Atompunk est une science-fiction punk qui se déroule spécifiquement pendant les années de l'âge de l'atome et de la course à l'espace entre la Seconde Guerre mondiale et l'atterrissage sur la lune. La source d'énergie de ce punk est atomique. La politique est fortement la démocratie sur le communisme. Les gentils portent des chapeaux blancs et la morale vient généralement du cœur de l'Amérique vers 1950. Atompunk se prête très bien aux films B et aux bandes dessinées lumineuses.
